Return, Refund & Cancellation Policy
At TechHobby (techhobby.in), we sell FPV drone parts, flight controllers, motors, batteries, goggles, frames, RTF/BNF quads and related RC electronics across India. This policy explains when you may return a product, request a replacement or refund, and what category-specific rules apply. Please read it carefully before placing an order.

Important — not all electronic products are covered
This policy does not apply equally to every electronic item on TechHobby. Return, refund, replacement and cancellation eligibility depend on the product category (for example: batteries, flight controllers, motors, goggles, RTF/BNF quads, DJI, consumables), whether the item is new, sealed, opened, used, soldered or modified, and whether the product page marks it as non-returnable or final sale.
Many FPV and RC electronics are tested or configured after delivery; once opened, installed, flashed, soldered, charged or flown, they may not qualify for change-of-mind return or full refund. Category-specific defect windows in Section 8 apply only to genuine manufacturer defects — not misuse, crash damage, wrong installation or normal wear.
Please read this entire policy and the product listing before ordering. If you are unsure whether your item is eligible, contact customer support before purchase.
24-hour rule — all electric & electronic products
The 24-hour period starts only when you receive the product at your delivery address — when the courier marks the shipment Delivered or when you physically take the package, whichever is recorded first on tracking. It does not start from order date, payment date or dispatch date.
You must inspect every electric and electronic product within 24 hours of receiving it (power test, visual check, unboxing video where applicable). Returns, replacements and exchanges for these items are accepted only if a genuine defect, DOA, wrong item or transit damage is found and reported within 24 hours of receipt with photo/video proof.
After 24 hours from the time you received the product, no return, refund, replacement or exchange will be entertained for electric/electronic products — including change of mind, fitment issues, or claims that the item "does not work" unless a prior RMA was already approved within the 24-hour window.

For all time limits in this table, the clock starts when you receive the shipment at your address (courier Delivered status), not from order or shipping date. Electric and electronic products follow Section 2. Other category notes are in Section 9. All returns are subject to approval.
2. Electric & electronic products — mandatory 24-hour inspection after receipt
When does the 24-hour window start? Only from the moment you receive the product — i.e. when it is delivered to your shipping address and marked Delivered by the courier, or when you physically collect the package (whichever applies per tracking). Order placed, payment confirmed and "shipped" statuses do not start this countdown.
This section applies to all electric and electronic products sold on TechHobby, including but not limited to:
- Flight controllers, ESC, VTX, PDB, stacks, AIO, GPS, receivers and radio electronics
- FPV cameras, goggles, video receivers and transmitters
- Motors, servos and gimbal motors
- LiPo / Li-ion batteries, chargers and charging accessories
- RTF / BNF / PNP quads, toys and assembled drones
- DJI and other branded drone/camera electronics
- Monitors, antennas, soldering tools, multimeters and other powered or electronic accessories
Mandatory continuous HD unboxing video (when you receive the parcel)
For every physical order — and especially all electric/electronic products — you must record one high-definition (HD) unboxing video at the time you open the parcel after delivery. This is a condition of purchase. At checkout you must tick the confirmation that you have read and understood this Return, Refund & Cancellation Policy in full and agree to the unboxing video and all terms herein — without that, your order cannot be placed.
Video requirements (all must be met):
- Single continuous recording — one unbroken video from start to finish. No cuts, edits, pauses, jump cuts, time-lapse or stitched clips.
- HD quality — minimum 720p, preferably 1080p; stable picture; clear audio if you narrate the order number.
- Show everything — outer courier packaging and label, all seals/tape, opening the box, every item and accessory, and each product from all sides. Nothing may be hidden off-camera or removed from frame during filming.
- Film while opening — record as you actually receive and open the parcel; a re-staged video later is not valid.
- State your order number on camera or show the packing slip/invoice in the video.
Return, refund and replacement will be discussed only after we receive this unboxing video, review it, and you complete the full inspection and tests described below. Claims without a compliant video may be rejected.
Your responsibilities within 24 hours of receiving the product:
- Record the mandatory continuous HD unboxing video before discarding packaging (see requirements above).
- Perform basic functional checks (e.g. USB/Betaflight for FC, continuity/short check before power, voltage-safe bench test where applicable).
- Do not solder, flash firmware, install on a frame, charge batteries or fly/use the product until you have confirmed it is working — unless you accept that a defect found after such use may not be covered.
- If anything is wrong, contact us immediately via Contact, email or WhatsApp with order number, SKU, the unboxing video and clear photos.
Returns are accepted only when:
- The item is dead on arrival (DOA) or has a confirmed manufacturer defect — not user error, wrong wiring, or incompatible setup
- The wrong product was shipped or transit damage is documented
- The claim is reported within 24 hours of receiving the product with required proof
After 24 hours from receipt: no return, refund, replacement, exchange or cancellation related to product condition will be processed for electric/electronic items. Be available to receive and test your order promptly.
3. New and unused products (change of mind — non-electronic)
For non-electric, non-electronic items only, TechHobby offers a 7-day return window on most new, unopened and unused goods, counted from the date of delivery. Electric and electronic products are excluded and are covered only under Section 2 (24-hour defective-only rule).
- Items that have been opened, used, soldered, flashed, assembled, crashed or damaged are not eligible.
- Original packaging must be undamaged and fully intact, including manuals, cables, accessories and warranty seals where applicable.
- We may require high-quality photos or a short video showing the item in new condition with all included accessories.
- Original outbound shipping charges are non-refundable.
- Return shipping for unwanted items is borne by the customer and must use a trackable courier service.
- A 10% restocking and convenience fee may apply on approved change-of-mind returns, plus any payment gateway charges where applicable.
- If the returned item is not in new/unused condition or accessories are missing, the return may be rejected and the item sent back to you at your shipping cost.
4. Defective, DOA, wrong or transit-damaged items
Electric & electronic products: see Section 2 — report within 24 hours of receiving the product; returns only if defective/DOA/wrong/damaged; no claims after 24 hours from receipt.
For other products, we will offer a replacement or refund (or store credit if stock is unavailable) when:
- The product is dead on arrival (DOA) or has a confirmed manufacturer defect
- The product is faulty or broken upon receipt (not due to customer misuse)
- A different product than what was ordered was delivered
- The package arrived visibly damaged — report within 48 hours with photos/video of the outer box and product
For non-electronic items, contact us within 48 hours of delivery via email, WhatsApp or our Contact page with your order number and evidence. Claims reported after 48 hours may not be eligible for return or replacement.
For some branded electronics, the manufacturer may require you to raise a warranty ticket directly. We will guide you through the process; replacements or refunds from TechHobby are issued only after inspection and, where required, manufacturer confirmation.
5. Missing products and packaging claims
- Report missing products or accessories within 24 hours of receiving the product. Claims after 24 hours from receipt will not be entertained.
- Before opening a sealed zip-lock bag or manufacturer box, take clear photos of the sealed package. We cannot accept missing-item claims if the seal was broken before documentation.
- Your continuous HD unboxing video (Section 2) must clearly show the sealed package before opening and every item removed from the box — required for missing-item claims.
- If we confirm a packing error, we will resend the missing item when in stock or refund the value of the missing product.
6. Eligibility conditions (all returns)
Unless reported as defective/DOA/wrong item, returns must meet all of the following:
- Purchased directly from TechHobby (not from third-party marketplaces)
- Unused and in the same condition as received
- Original brand/manufacturer box, tags, warranty card, manuals and all accessories included
- No soldering, wiring, firmware flashing, crash damage, modifications or improper installation
- Valid proof of purchase (order number or invoice)
- RMA (Return Merchandise Authorisation) approved before shipping the item back
7. Non-returnable and limited-return items
- LiPo / Li-ion batteries that have been charged, cycled, punctured, swollen, crashed or used (except genuine DOA within the battery warranty window)
- Propellers, consumables, opened adhesive items and clearance / final-sale listings marked non-returnable
- Custom builds, soldered items, pre-flashed or built-to-order products
- Digital products, license keys or downloadable content after delivery
- Items damaged by misuse, incorrect voltage, reverse polarity, overcharging, water damage, fire, power surges or improper storage
- Products with removed, altered or tampered serial numbers or warranty seals
- Gift cards and similar non-physical vouchers
8. Return process (RMA)
- Request a return or exchange via our Contact page, email support@techhobby.in, or phone/WhatsApp details listed on the site. Include your order number, SKU/product name and a clear description.
- Attach your continuous HD unboxing video (as required in Section 2) plus any additional photos showing the defect. Claims without a compliant unboxing video will not be processed.
- Wait for RMA approval and return shipping instructions. Returns sent without RMA may be refused.
- For defective/wrong items, we may provide a return label or arrange pickup where feasible. For change-of-mind returns, you arrange return shipping with mandatory tracking.
- Pack electronics with anti-static protection; use original packaging where possible.
- Allow 3–5 business days for processing after receipt. Items requiring extended testing may take 7–14 business days.
Reimbursement of return shipping (when due to our error) applies only to actual postage/courier charges, not packing materials, and may be capped at ₹100 unless otherwise agreed in writing.
9. Category-specific notes (after 24-hour report)
For all electric and electronic categories below, you must still report any defect within 24 hours of receiving the product at your address (Section 2). The table does not extend that deadline — it lists category notes only. Brand warranty (DJI, GoPro, etc.) may differ and is handled per the manufacturer.

10. Refunds and store credit
- Approved refunds are processed to the original payment method within 7–10 business days after inspection. Bank/UPI settlement may take additional time.
- Payment gateway charges (if any) and outbound shipping are non-refundable except when the return is due to our error.
- COD orders may be refunded via bank transfer or store credit as agreed with support.
- Where a replacement is out of stock, we may offer store credit or a full refund at our discretion.
- Sale/clearance items are refunded at the price actually paid; some sale items may be final sale as marked on the listing.
11. Order cancellation
- Orders may be cancelled within 2 hours of placement if the order has not yet been shipped.
- Once dispatched, cancellation is not possible — the return process applies instead.
- Approved pre-shipment cancellations are refunded after deducting payment gateway charges (if applicable), any restocking fee (up to 2%) and shipping already incurred.
- Refunds for cancelled orders are typically processed within 3–7 business days.
12. Cash on delivery (COD)
We offer Cash on Delivery for customer convenience. Due to repeated refused deliveries causing shipping losses, we may flag or cancel COD orders that appear suspicious or where the customer has a history of rejecting packages. If your COD order is flagged, please contact customer care to confirm the order.
13. Manufacturer warranty & liability
Many products (iFlight, GEPRC, BetaFPV, DJI, RunCam, etc.) include manufacturer warranty beyond our return window. Warranty service may require registration with the brand and shipping to an authorised service centre. TechHobby will assist with documentation where possible; final warranty decisions rest with the manufacturer.
Warranty is void where damage results from user error in installation or assembly, failure to follow manufacturer guidelines, voltage mismatch, unauthorised repair, or normal wear and tear. TechHobby is not liable for injury, property damage or consequential loss arising from use of RC/FPV products. You are responsible for safe operation, compliance with local laws and proper battery handling.
14. General terms
- All returns and exchanges are at the discretion of TechHobby.
- Each case is reviewed individually; we reserve the right to refuse returns that do not meet this policy.
- If you are uncomfortable with these terms, please contact us before purchase or do not complete the order.
- Nothing in this policy limits rights you may have under applicable consumer protection laws in India.
