User Data Deletion

This page explains how customers of TechHobby can request deletion of personal data associated with their account on techhobby.in. It supplements our Privacy Policy.

1. Who this applies to

This policy applies to registered TechHobby customers and users who have signed in via email registration or social login (Facebook, Google, etc.). Guest checkout orders are linked to email/phone only and can be deleted on request with proof of identity.

2. Data we may hold about you

• Account profile: name, email, mobile, username, password hash
• Addresses: saved shipping and billing addresses
• Orders: products purchased, amounts, payment references, delivery status
• Support: tickets, messages and attachments you sent us
• Technical: login history, IP address, device/browser information
• Social login: Facebook/Google provider user ID while account is linked
• Marketing: newsletter subscription status (if opted in)

3. How to request deletion

Option A — Facebook users

Remove TechHobby from your Facebook account under Settings → Apps and Websites. Facebook will send us a data deletion request automatically. You will receive a confirmation code and status URL.

Option B — Email or contact form

1. Go to our Contact page
2. Subject: Account Data Deletion Request
3. Include the email address and mobile number registered on your TechHobby account
4. We may ask for verification (e.g. OTP to registered mobile) before processing

Option C — Email directly

Write to rajjangid911@gmail.com from your registered email with the same details as above.

4. What we delete

After verifying your identity, we will delete or anonymise:

• Your account profile and login credentials
• Saved shipping addresses
• Social login provider linkage (Facebook/Google ID)
• Login session and activity logs tied to your account
• Marketing preferences and newsletter subscription
• Wishlist, compare list and cart data

5. What we may retain

We may retain certain records where required by law or legitimate business need, including:

• Order and invoice records for GST, tax and accounting (typically up to 8 years under Indian law)
• Payment transaction references (not full card details)
• Records needed for fraud prevention or legal disputes

Retained data is minimised and, where possible, disassociated from your name and contact details.

6. Processing timeline

• We acknowledge requests within 3 business days
• Deletion is completed within 30 days of successful verification
• You will receive email confirmation when processing is complete

7. Effect of deletion

Once your account is deleted, you will not be able to log in, view order history or use saved addresses. You may create a new account in the future, but previous order history will not be linked unless retained records are lawfully matched (e.g. same email for support purposes).
